Burt Bulos for believing in someone enough to shepherd the play and for producing and acting in the piece, Michelle for her brilliant notes and interpretation of the roles – both acting and directing, and Murisa for putting things together – the space, the people, navigating FRINGE, the website, and acting and directing. Sometimes working with people on a project reminds you of what it means to be in a community.
Kevin Shih, my amazing husband and biggest supporter, created and developed our ad and beautiful poster for the festival. It made it all seem real. He made this fab website for us as well and added flair to our song transitions. He also reminded me that I could do anything. He is ever my love.
And thank you to family: Bob, Joyce, Chip, Mel, Jake, Zack, Lauren, Jaden, Brady and Cassidy. Brady and Cassidy and I read every night as they were growing up and it is lovely to see them both using their creativity with words daily. Cass also brilliantly made our song playlists.
And thank you ECC Humanities and English department and staff – past and present, our small but mighty Creative Writing department, FYE, and all of the third-floor peeps and the brain trust.
And thank you Brooke and Christie for always getting it, always. And Jen and Biz and Myers rounding out the ever-supportive and amazingly gorgeous EST Festers.
And thank you lovely Betties: Gamze, Joanie, Bev, Jenn W., Rose, Nancy, and Maureen for adopting me and teaching me to celebrate when we get together.
And thank you to all of the SB friends like Kelley, Cristina, Steph, Tricia, Gretchen, Ann, Judith, Maj, and Tricia K.
And thank you to our volleyball friends who give us peace and fun now that the kids are grown: Elizabeth and Craig, Mike and Annette, Glenn and Jan, and Kristen and Mark.
Also big thanks to the bard, William Shakespeare. Texts used for this piece: The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice, The Tragedy of King Lear, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and The Tragedy of Antony and Cleopatra – all from The Riverside Shakespeare, Houghton Mifflin Company, 1974.
